If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

Acknowledgement of Our Service

Qalam Edits (“Qalam”) provides information and guidance about medical school & college (Common App) personal statements and other essays submitted by the client (“Editing Materials”). Qalam does not make any warranty of any kind (expressed or implied) as to the results that may be obtained from use of suggestions from editors on Editing Materials. In particular, Qalam does not guarantee that suggestions, edits, or comments on Editing Materials will improve your chances of admission to medical school or a college/university, or that you will be admitted to any medical school or college/university. Qalam is not responsible for any loss, injury, claim, liability, or damage (including rejection from any medical school or college/university) related to your use of the suggestions, edits, or comments made on the Editing Materials, whether it be from errors, omissions, advice, or any other cause whatsoever. Your use of the suggestions, edits, or comments in the Editing Materials is at your own risk.

Auhtorization of Use of Materials Submitted by You

To the extent that you submit written content to us as you use our service, you grant us and our editors a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sub-licensable right to edit or make suggestions on the Google Documents platform on Editing Material submitted by the client.

Clients using Qalam
(Students, Parents, Schools and Other Organizations)

As a client looking for an editor to make suggestions to your documents through Qalam, you agree that:

You will only contact Qalam Edits if you are looking for a editor;
If you are under the age of 18, you will get parent or legal guardian consent before using the site and before contacting Qalam;
You will not distribute or post any inappropriate, offensive, false, defamatory or libelous content to Qalam or any editor;
You acknowledge and comply with the "Acknowledgement of Our Service" section above.
Editing Ethics
All Qalam editors are held to rigorous ethical standards as part of our commitment to integrity and excellence. Essays in the application process are a personal process, and editors at Qalam are trained to guide generally and constructively along with grammatical improvement that does not infringe on your creativity. By choosing Qalam, you acknowledge:
Qalam and it's editors do NOT write essays for clients. You are the author of your essay.
The ideas are yours, not ours as Qalam editors do not add/modify content ideas but rather give individualized guidance.
Our suggestions are just the beginning. Guidance given by editors are meant to be a starting point to improve upon your admission essay(s).
Confidentiality

We’ll keep your documents and personal information confidential. Your editor may share your documents and information with other Qalam editors for a second opinion.

Links of Editing Materials provided via Google Forms are deleted within 15 days of completion of edits by a Qalam editor.
